Kenneth P. Carney has been the Lorain County Engineer / Sanitary Engineer since 1989. As County Engineer, his office is responsible for the care and maintenance of 269 miles of county roads, 231 bridges, 1188 county culverts and over 19 miles of ditches.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the District 9 Integrating Committee of the Ohio Public Works Commission (Issue 2), the publicly funded State Agency that approves and finances qualified infrastructure projects for county and local communities. He is also a member on the board of the Northeast Ohio Area-wide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), a distributor of federal funding.

His involvement with various public work agencies allows him input and guidance into the selection of projects not only for Lorain County highway, bridge and sanitary projects, but Federal and State projects within the area as well.
